About This Position
The Blood Bank Service Area Specialist plans, organizes and delineates Blood Bank duties at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, French Hospital Medical Center and Marian Medical Center Hospital under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Directors of all three hospitals.
Participates in intra- and inter-departmental Continuous Quality Improvement processes. Performs all duties using independent judgment, initiative, and follow-through. Rotates shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, following written notice.
Bachelors Degree in health-related science. Certification as an ASCP or AABB Specialist in Blood Bank preferred. Minimum of five years experience in clinical Blood Bank, preferably in an acute-care setting. Licensed by the California Department of Public Health as a Clinical Lab Scientist.
