Overview

In April 2012, Marian opened its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which houses the latest technology to support excellent physicians and caregivers who deliver compassionate care each and every day. Marian's new hospital includes 191 beds, expanded and enhanced Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, NICU and women's services.

Responsibilities
The Education & Quality Coordinator supports the hospice programs by providing department level initial and ongoing orientation for all staff and contractors. Identifies learning needs of the Department and arranges, develops, and conducts subsequent in-services and training programs. Serves as a liaison to hospital education department for mandatory education programs. Reviews clinical documentation utilizing all available resources . Utilizes healthcare data software to assist hospice clinicians in meeting regulatory compliance as well as identifying strengths and
opportunities for improvement. Gathers and analyzes data used in process improvement initiatives. Prepares summaries and reports as requested. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Three years of Home Health
Current RN License
Current CPR (American Heart Association approved)
Current CA Drivers License and proof of Automobile Liability Insurance
Hospice Patient Care and documentation experience
BSN Degree preferred
Quality Review:knowledge of Hospice Item Set
Special Skills:
Proficient in nursing assessment and intervention skills
Demonstrates aptitude for teaching
Demonstrates working knowledge of regulatory requirements for home care and hospice including- Title XXII, Medicare COP and Joint Commission standards
Able to articulate/teach Home Health, Hospice regulatory and coverage requirements to all staff
Demonstrates proficient written and oral communication skills and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency in PowerPoint, Word Processing and Windows based software applications
Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently
