Transitions-Mental Health Association Retail Sales Clerk-Part-Time in SAN LUIS OBISPO, California
The Retail Sales Clerk is responsible for all customer service and sales functions at the Growing Grounds Downtown site. Duties include working with consumers of mental health services; greeting and engaging customers; opening and closing cash register; processing cash and credit sales transaction; packaging and wrapping sold items; arranging, and displaying goods for sale; and maintaining shop cleanliness. The position is responsible for providing clear communication with Supervisor regarding sales strategies, marketing, inventory, customer feedback and feedback for consumer staff. The Retail Sales Clerk will be knowledgeable of the agency’s philosophy and mission and is responsible for promoting this philosophy within the job role.
Part-Time, 8 hours per week.
MUST INCLUDE A RESUME. High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years experience working in a retail setting. Must have gardening experience and plant knowledge. Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Marketing and display arrangement experience preferred. Strong monetary record keeping and cash handling skills and experience required. Must be able to lift and move merchandise and inventory. Conditions of employment include: must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License and minimum 2 years driving experience preferred, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements preferred. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance. At the time of hire, other conditions of employment are to comply with a T.B. skin test or chest x-ray indicating a negative tuberculosis result, and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
