Responsible for technical support of production equipment: evaluate & troubleshoot production equipment problems, coordinate with Process Engineering to define new equipment design requirements, develop plans for equipment upgrades and reconfiguring to extend useful life. Additional responsibilities: Develop operating procedures, maintenance schedules and instructions within company systems, format and guidelines. Communicate with technicians on proper equipment use and observations. Troubleshoot, repair, and research replacement parts as needed. Communicate equipment status, issues, and progress with Process Engineering and Factory management Prepare details of activities, summarize actions, and estimate recovery plans. Actively participate in special task teams, as requested by manager. Required Skills: Basic design (drawings & schematic) skills with processing equipment, basic electro-mechanical, electro-optical measurement & metrology, hand tools & basic equipment repair skills. Adherence to environmental health & safety programs including electrical safety, gas safety, hazardous materials, and material handling and lifting. Knowledge of electronics and control systems, mechanics, robotics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. Motion control systems, GD&T and inspection equipment. Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems and process tools; and, be fluent in the conventional engineering use of technical terms and reading schematics. Experience in fault isolation and use of analytical equipment. Able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM/company operating and maintenance instruction manuals. Intermediate computer skills are required including the use of Microsoft Windows based productivity tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word U.S. Citizenship Secret Security Clearance U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs as an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment Desired Skills: Experience with electro-mechanical control systems, machine design, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, motion control systems, mechanical inspection techniques. Familiar with clean room operations and protocols. Familiarity with AutoCad, Solidworks, or similar design software. Obtained through work experience: metrology or GD&T knowledge, equipment or tooling design.
