An R&D and light manufacturing facility based in Goleta is looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager / Marketing professional. In this role you will report directly to the Senior Director of Sales and Product Engineering. The ideal candidate would have experience in customer relations, marketing, search engine optimization, product development and networking tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Locate and engage new customers for existing products using web tools, email, telephone, and networking outreach
Use any available social media channels to identify key contacts at target companies for face-to-face meetings with our Sales team
Use marketing skills to define and manage a new company website
Provide look-and-feel input for consistent branding and desired corporate image
Research market segments to identify growth market trends for team consideration
Advise management of proposed association, tradeshow, or industry participation
Develop and/or coordinate marketing materials such as press releases, media articles, whitepapers, association contributions, and industry awards
Interface closely with Sales team and other internal departments
Education: Must have a 4-yr degree in a related field.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 yrs experience in a Sales, Marketing, or Business Development role.
Must have very strong marketing skills in the areas of lead generation, digital marketing, and program development.
Experience working with business-to-business customers and translating requirements to support print, digital and social media platforms
Previous customer service experience in manufacturing industry preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
Computer Skills : Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook. WordPress skills are a very strong plus.
Language: Must have strong English communications skills, both verbal and written. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Reasoning Ability: Highly creative, results-oriented team player mentality. Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Demands: Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.
Work Environment: Moderate noise with use of typical computers and printers, light traffic. Adjacent work areas are subject to loud noise and may require occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection.
